Clique Kits | Remember

|
Another Clique Kits layout featuring Maggie Holmes Gather collection.

Some days I just want to machine-stitch.  So I do ;)

This isn't a page with techniques or any kind of fancy stuff.  It's just a layout that captures a moment that means something to me.

Of course there's a bit of splatter and random threads.... the pretty/messy aspect that I love so much. And this gold glitter heart washi from my stash that I've been using like crazy lately.

A few tiny details, and more of those tiny tassels that are exclusives from Clique Kits.

Randomly yours,
xoxo

Crate Paper | Hello Snow

|
I'm not someone who purchases "themed" products so much, I like things that I consider neutrals that can be used in a variety of ways.  But Crate Paper seems to always have some kind of winter line that sucks me right in.

The only bad thing?  It sucked everyone else in as well.  I couldn't get many of the embellishments for the Snow & Cocoa line, so I had to make it work!

The day I took these photos the natural lighting was really golden and warm, so the editing was a bit difficult.

I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe as the main element of my page, backing it with a patterned paper and then hand-stitching the interior of the cut to make it pop.

I had to fussy cut some elements to embellish, since this line is sold it everywhere.

I'm super happy with the end result though!

Bundle up!
xoxo

Clique Kits | Q & Papa

|
I seem to be a few months behind when it comes to using my kits from Clique Kits.  And that's ok.  I like using these as my "for fun" pages, the things I make when I don't have design team commitments.

I debated adding a title to this page, and now that I'm blogging the layout I kind of wish I hadn't used one.  Hindsight, and all that.

I won't change it.  Now I know for next time.

I've used this ephemera pack from Maggie Holmes before, and having done that I felt like I could be totally decadent and use up a ton of items on this page.

Those mini tassels are exclusives from Clique Kits.  And I love them.

I used to print my photos from an on-line company and these are extras from those days.  I'm sure this photo has been scrapped before but I don't mind.  It's been 4 years ;)

Florals and plaids and mini tassels, oh my!

Clique Kits | IG Share | Fascination

I am guesting at Clique Kits this month and would love it if you would check out all the fabulous work created using the December Clique Kits.  Head on over to Instagram and search the following hashtags:

  • #Cliquekits
  • #Clique_Connect_Create
  • #CKDecemberkit
  • #CKWONDERLAND
  • #CKPepRally

I used an older cut file frame and a December cut file from Clique Kits for the title, drawing the word "fascination" with my Silhouette, hand-stitching and using water colors to make that pink stand out from the black and white.

For a bit of fun I used several Shimmerz sprays and some Heidi Swapp gold, splattering on the top left and bottom right corners.

The butterflies are also from Clique Kits, love them cut out of vellum with gold.  I adhered the butterfly bodies and then stitched through them with gold thread.

The photo is backed with tissue paper from my stash; I added the frame with my tiny attacher, also tucking in a few exclusive paper tabs and die cuts.  To finish I added some Jillibean Soup wood veneer shapes.

You fascinate me ;)

Gossamer Blue | LOVE My Pilgrim

|
How is it, that I can work on a layout, photograph and edit the layout, and not realize until I'm posting the photos that the photo on the layout was completely wonky?

Seriously tho.

I was totally inspired by my good scrap friend Zsoka when I made this page.  Although Zsoka would never have a wonky pic like mine ;)

I added the gold alpha's and tags from my stash, the rest is from the December Gossamer Blue kits.

Loving those giant leaves!  And the pic of my girly at pre-school last year makes me giggle.

Lately I've been skipping the journaling.... I'm focused on the making aspect of things right now.  I've mentioned this before; right now the creating brings me such joy that the story is secondary (read: non-existant).  That's totally ok.  I scrapbook for me.  No other reason.

Do you.

Gossamer Blue | Golden Days

|
Some people don't love backing cut files.  It can be mundane.  And a gluey mess ;)

I truly don't mind it.  The outcome is worth all the glue stuck to my finger tips.

The December Gossamer Blue kits are so, so pretty.  The perfect color combo to transition from Fall to Winter.  I used a few tags from my stash but the rest of the items came from the December kits.

This photo of my mama and my precious girly..... definitely a golden day in my memory.  Another layout where I just let it flow and it's not overly embellished.  Trimming out the cut file is another thing I've been in to lately; this time because my Silhouette didn't cut the entire file and what a happy accident for me!  I like the over-all look.

The file is from The Cut Shoppe, I adore everything Ashley designs.

Stay golden Pony Boy.

Gossamer Blue | November Beauty

|
Special thanks to Rebekah for these amazing photos.  They are from last year and I'm still working my way through all of them, they are too special to not scrap every single photo.

I die cut 3 large feathers using Fancy Pants papers in the kit, then hand-stitched around them.

Another page where I put more of my effort in the background, then kept the rest of the page rather minimal to highlight the stitching.

I used the Fancy Pants ephemera to embellish, adding just a tiny bit of machine-stitching with gold thread.

You're such a beauty.

Clique Kits | Sketch Challenge

|
Hey friends!  I'm guesting for Clique Kits this month, and I would love it if you would play along with their sketch challenge!

Here's the sketch for December:

And my take on the sketch:

I used the adorable heart paper from Bella Blvd as my background, then trimmed down a CK exclusive card from 4x6 to 4x4, added another 4x4 card and then trimmed out a 4x4 piece of the Illustrated Faith acetate.  I stitched down the middle and across the middle with silver thread, similar to the main diamond shape in the sketch.

I used circle punches on the Pink Paislee Moonstruck paper in the kit, and added a Jillibean Soup veneer.

I layered the photo over folded up tissue paper then added exclusive die cuts to embellish.  The title is also machine-stitched to the layout.

Head over to the Clique Kits Blog to see how the creative team used the sketch!  And watch for more projects from me this month using this gorgeous December kit!

Live colorfully,
xoxo

Gossamer Blue | Brilliant

|
Don't we all think our kiddo is the most brilliant ever?

Well, mine is.  ;)

Brilliant and a talented artist!

I had some lighting issues the day I took this, everything is much warmer than I typically go for.

I used Life Pages cards as my main embellishments, trimming the top and bottom cards to fit the page.  A few wonky layers behind the photo adds just the right touch for my little artist.

Pink Paislee has some great die cut words in the Moonstruck ephemera.  Perfect (and easy!) titles.

Adore that everyday adventures LP card.  The little tree fits perfectly.  I added some gold thread stitching just for additional texture and shine.

I've been trying to not over-think my pages.  At this point I make them for the joy of making.  I'm not focused on a story at all, just creating because it truly brings me joy.  My pages are much more simple but I love them.

Stay random!
xoxo

Gossamer Blue | My Home

|
Hello!

The December kits from Gossamer Blue really offer a huge variety this month.  While there is primarily Fancy Pants and Pink Paislee products, we received a few sheets from the Dear Lizzy Saturday line as well.  I think the ampersand paper was the perfect setting for this Fall photo from last year.

The photo is layered on tissue paper and then I focused on tons of embellishments.  I'm still on this more simplified layout kick, but this time I kept the background simple and really added to the photo area.

I used all Fancy Pants Golden Days ephemera on the page, sticking with coral, gold and black.

Those die cut flowers are something, aren't they?

I kept the branding strip along the bottom of the paper because it was black and white (even though the large layout pic doesn't show it as b&w).  One last bit of ephemera finished the page.

You're something wonderful ;)
xoxo
