The Cut Shoppe | Process Video

|
Here's a little something fun for you on this fine Saturday!

I cut this adorable geo elephant file from The Cut Shoppe as large as I could on a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock, then added clear gesso to white background cardstock and went to town with my Shimmerz.  The white elephant on the white cardstock got a bit lost, so I outlined the elephant and each interior cut with black marker to give it some pop.

I used April kits from Gossamer Blue to put this page together, focusing on the Maggie Holmes and Jen Hadfield products from the kits.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a colorful weekend!
xoxo

Pretty Little Studio | Love Love My Girl

I'm sharing another layout on the Pretty Little Studio blog, I would love it if you would head over there and read my post!

I used a mix of collections:  Woodland, Marigold and Gold Mine.  You can shop for them HERE.

Have a beautiful day!

Citrus Twist | Love This Smile

I have a new love for the color periwinkle.  Even though it's incredibly difficult to color match and some periwinkle's are more purple and others more blue.... yeah, it's just so lovely.

I tried out the July Citrus Twist kits because of this delicious periwinkle color.

I used a cut file as a stencil and mixed up some paints for my mixed media background, adding in a few splatters of white and gray spray inks.

The silver sparkle Thickers are from my stash.  I love silver and periwinkle together.

I heat embossed the wood veneer, also from my stash, just to add in more silver.  I know I shouldn't be surprised to find things in my stash that I've had for years, but I remember getting that punched butterfly in a kit long before I had my kiddo!

Have a lovely, periwinkle kind of day!  :)

This one is a bit different for me, as purple isn't a color I use all that often.  I find it's one of the least used colors in scrapbook lines.  But isn't it pretty?

This layout started out totally different, I won't even begin to tell you the mess it was.  I hate having to rip apart a page and I rarely do, but yeah, hot mess.

I think what saved it was adding in the gray chevron paper to one side.  The squares on their own were just too much for my photo.

That lime really pops with this color scheme.  On a white background it got so washed out.  And I love the gold against the purple.

How's your week?  Sending happy scrappy thoughts!

Hip Kit Club | Happily Ever After

Another layout using the Hip Kit Club July kits, this time I used an exclusive cut file as the main feature of my page.

I used a Silhouette sketch pen to draw the cut file, then watercolored it with some Shimmerz paints.  I also added some Shimmerz by smooshing it on the paper.  The photo is matted with several sheets of papers from the July kits.

I'll be honest, stitching those flowers drove me a bit crazy, haha!  But, as always with hand stitching, it's so worth the outcome.

Those gold puffy stickers by Freckled Fawn are adorable!  I kept the embellishing to a minimum so the hand stitching could be the star of the show.

Thanks for checking out my layout :)

How about some sparkle and shine today?

You can find this layout on the Pretty Little Studio blog!  I made a girly page without a single drop of pink, can you believe it?  :)

Let that inner sparkle out today!

Citrus Twist | The Best

|
My friend Z sent me a link to the July Citrus Twist Kits and I lost my mind for the periwinkle colors in the kit!  So of course I had to buy it ;)

My first layout using the July kits is all about the soft pinks and blues, with a small pop of yellow.  I used a border punch and a star punch to fill my page with bits of star shaped confetti.

I cut the punched strips and backed my photo with them.  I have a light layer of white acrylic paint on the background paper and added in a few splatters with Shimmerz and Dylusions.

I used a large Thickers sticker from my stash for the title.  I wanted contrast and black pops off those pastels.

How's our Saturday?  Make something wonderful this weekend!

Hip Kit Club | Enjoy

This one is a current fave.

I loooooove the houses cut file designed by Kim Watson for HKC.  Isn't it adorable?  Add in rainbow paper from Bella Blvd and yep, cutest thing I ever did see!

It did take a minute to insert all those windows, I'll be honest.  But totally worth the outcome!

Puffy stickers, die cuts and flair exclusives, along with black thread and a tiny bit of mixed media were all I needed to get this cute page completed.

It's Friday!!!
Here's to the weekend,
xoxo

July kits from Hip Kit Club are pretty rad.

Bright color, pops of black.... yeah,  They're good :)

I started with the floral wreath, designed by The Cut Shoppe for Scrapbook Nerd.  I fussy cut tons of flowers from a HKC exclusive paper and then just added more and more and more until I was happy with the result.

Those acrylic dots remind me of yummy candies!

Have a great Wednesday :)

Hey friends, I've got another layout up on the Pretty Little Studio blog, I would love it if you would head over and read my post!

I think using the papers and vellum to back cut files is the best way to stretch your stash!  You'll definitely be seeing more of that from me.

I hope you have a dreamy summer day.

Happy Mixed Media Monday!  I had a process video but after uploading it just looked awful. So my apologies for the video tease. I just wasn't happy with the quality.

I had so much fun putting this page together, and while I've been working on using my stash this summer, I've found that I just haven't made it to all the lines I've wanted.  But this is a great start and I'm confident I'll keep working through what I've got.

Happy Monday!

Millie and June | Complete Perfection

|
I'm still loving the Millie and June collection from Fancy Pants Designs.

I've found that I especially love using it with cut files, this one is from JustNick Studio.

I realize the banner says "best friend" and it's a group photo, but there's some besties in there ;)

Love the pops of gold in this collection!

I used Shimmerz products along with Heidi Swapp gold and Mr. Huey's black for mixed media on the background.

That flair badge is so delicious!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope your weekend is wonderful :)

My first blog post is up at Pretty Little Studio!  I would love it if you would hop over there and check out my post.

Still can't believe I made it on this fabulous team.... so many talented designers are on the PLS team, make sure to look at their posts as well!

Have a great day :)

You might think I'm totally bananas for backing all the little squares on this Very Squary cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

But once I got going, it was actually a pretty quick process!  I started with the two larger squares, using life pages cards from the Life Pages Main Add-on kit, after that I was able to use scraps for the smaller squares, using larger pieces to cover more than one square at a time.

I used a ton of the die cuts from Main Add-on to embellish, plus some thread from my stash.

Thanks for swinging by my blog today :)

Hello and Happy Friday!

This photo just begged for some punched clouds out of the awesome Simple Stories papers!

I kept this layout kind of simple, I wanted the punched clouds to be the embellishment focal point.

Have a happy weekend!
