Gossamer Blue September Sneaks

|
Oh me oh my.  September is going to be a happy month for scrapping!  Here's a few sneaks of layouts I made with the September Gossamer Blue kits.  This month my layouts are made up of about an 80/20 mix of scrapbook kits vs life pages kits.

The color palette is is very pretty.  I don't have a better word for it and I think pretty sums it up very well.  I've come to realize that the softer colors with a pop of black really sums up my style/floats my boat/knocks my socks off.  I also tried my hand at a bit of mixed media on one layout.  I'm obsessed with using watercolors and becoming better with them.

September kits will be on sale to the public on September 1, noon central.  Subscribers can get in on the action a day early.  September already?

Be happy!

Gossamer Blue "S is For Aunt Susie"

I used the delicious washi tape from the August Gossamer Blue kits three ways for this sunshiney layout featuring one of my sisters and Miss Q.  The cloud paper from October Afternoon is just so happy!  Read my how-to HERE on the Gossamer Blue blog.

aWDML Balance

Hi Friends!  Happy AWDML Day!  Haha, Tuesday's are my blog day at A Walk Down Memory Lane and today I've got a layout all about balance:  balancing patterns + feminine and masculine elements on one page.  Click HERE to read all about it.

Five on Friday

|
I've never done a Five on Friday post before, but have read several from other bloggers I admire.  I have a few thoughts going through my head this morning and want to share!

1.  Fall is in the air.  We've had a bit of cooling off in Kansas this week and it's making me so anxious for Fall and my favorite time of year.  The temps next week are back to typical August, but this week has been delicious.  A few things Fall brings that I love include leggings, cardi's and crisp mornings.
Gap Stripe Cardi
AEO High Rise Leggings

2.  Creativity.  I am blessed with friends who can generate ideas quicker than quick.  I have so many ideas right now and my own creativity is taking a turn down a new path.  Cannot wait to share some fun stuff in the works with my sweet friend Rebekah, plus a few more things I want to do on my own. AND I've got a few big things happening for my design teams.  I'm on the cusp and get butterflies just thinking about what could happen.

3.  Threenagers.  Ugh.  I'm in the midst of madness with the girly.  Mood swings, independence and sharing not-so-nice opinions.  Help.  THIS article nails it.

4.  Inspiration.  I have a new scrap crush and her name is Irit.  Read her blog HERE.  Amazing mixed media which lines up exactly with the direction I hope to go next.

5.  Mani's.  I love shellac mani's and my girl Danielle hooks me up every time.  I love nail art but don't feel it looks so great on me so I stick with my fave darker shades or classic colors.  I'm sporting  HOT ROD RED right now.

AWDML: You, My Brown Eyed Girl

|
Tuesday AGAIN!  I've got a video (and a major blooper) on the A Walk Down Memory Lane blog HERE.

I just love my girly's big dark eyes.  I remember waking up one time when she was still tiny, I had to use the bathroom and when I crept back into our bedroom there were these big, brown, baby eyes looking right at me.  She didn't make a peep, just looked right at me and started kicking with excitement.  I miss those days.  But I'm content with right now, soaking up every single minute.

Be happy, friends!

Project 12: 7

|
I completed by July Project 12 layout using Life Pages kits from Gossamer Blue.   Here's the 12x12 two page spread.

Individual photos of each 12x12 pocket page:

July also has one insert, this is a photo of the front and back of the approx. 7x12 insert.

I prefer to use pocket pages from We R Memory Keepers as I find them to be the best quality and most consistent pocket size.  The insert this month is from Project Life brand and while I like the tons of options for page set up and insert size, I find that the pockets themselves are a bit inconsistent in size and tend to tear a bit (which is why there is washi tape on one edge in the photo above).  Just sharing some personal preferences :)

I just checked the Gossamer Blue store and saw that there a few July Life Pages kits still available for purchase!  Click HERE to do a bit of shopping, grab a kit or three and get busy creating!

Gossamer Blue Inspiration Blog Hop

|

Happy Blog Hop Day!  There are tons of beautiful projects on the Hop this month, created to inspire you to use up those amazing August kits from Gossamer Blue.

I used the Life Pages kits for my June Project 12 spread.  I let the exclusive cards be the focal point this month, limiting the embellishing compared to other months.  Here's the left side:
Funny story:  I was in my hometown for my birthday this year, and my mom ordered me a cake from the local grocery store.  Well, let's just say cake decorating isn't their strong point.  I found it hilarious!

The right side includes the GB DT announcement from June 15.  To say I'm excited to be on this DT for another term is a complete understatement.  Also included is my girly's first dance class and some outside play.

Next is the first insert for June, all about my sweet nephew Super Jase.  It isn't a great photo but it's a memory I want to keep forever.  I printed the journaling on the background paper, just to change it up.

These photos show the front and back of the second June insert.  Yes, that's me riding the squirrel cages at the carnival.  FYI:  I'm officially too old for carnival rides.  It took about an hour for my stomach to settle after it was over.

I have a few photos with the main pages + inserts:

Gossamer Blue Hello Sunshine

|
Happy Friday!  There were some fabulous cut files included with the Gossamer Blue kits for August. Did you know that if you subscribe to either the Main Kit or the Life Pages kit you get cut files for both + two sheets of printables?  Another amazing perk of subbing to Gossamer Blue (click HERE for info on becoming a subscriber)!

I enlarged one of the cut files to create the sunburst background, using Simple Stories patterned paper. There are tons of great embellishments in the August kits, which I used to finish off the page.

Have a good weekend my friends!  The girly starts preschool next week and I want to enjoy our last weekend of summer with some grilling and ice cream :)

AWDML: Love This Girl

|
Hey guys, Happy Tuesday!  I made an 8.5 x 11 layout with some adorable Bella Blvd products.  Read all about it on the A Walk Down Memory Lane blog HERE.

Gossamer Blue: Front Porch Playing

|
Another layout using August kits from Gossamer Blue.   This was a quiet moment with my girly, she was so happy digging in her cloud dough on the porch.  We had just returned from my hometown where we had several days of go-go-go and when we came home it was nice to have quiet.  Miss Q had spent 2 hours in the recliner and truly, didn't move an inch.  She perked up a bit after supper and that's when I caught this photo.
I used the Main Kit for this page (currently sold out).  I love the simplicity.

Make magic :)

AWDML: I want to fill my heart

|
This layout means so much to me because it captures the true relationship between my friend Angie and I--she makes me laugh until I cry and my stomach hurts!  She's the best in every way.  Love her so, so much!  Read the how-to for this page at A Walk Down Memory Lane blog HERE.

Gossamer Blue: Goodtimes

|
Gossamer Blue did a promotion with Page Maps this month, here's the layout I made using one of their fab sketches:
August kits used:  Main Kit, Life Pages Add-on #3, Life Pages Themed Add-on, Bits & Pieces Kit (highlighted kits are still available, just click on the words).

This page was a mix of fun and silly, documenting a lunch date with my BFF Winif.
That girl is F-U-N no matter where we are or what we're doing!  Love my Winif.

Keep It Silly, Sister ;)

Gossamer Blue: August Reveal

|
Happy 1st of August my friends!  It's reveal day for Gossamer Blue and the kits are perfect for scrapping summer photos.  I'm sharing one of my favorite pages, featuring my sweet girly in one of her favorite places:  our backyard.

August kits have October Afternoon, Simple Stories, Fancy Pants and Crate Paper.  The mix of products truly blew me away, Lori is incredibly talented and makes the best kits, hands down.

Get your goodies at noon central HERE.
