Gossamer Blue: Helper Girl

|
The March kits from Gossamer Blue have the loveliest color palette; because I'm a girly-girl and love pink, these kits seem to be custom made for me.

I used the entire washi tape booklet from Pink Paislee to give my photos a mat, then trimmed down the "love" paper to accent my title.  My photos were printed at approximately 3x4 inches and slightly over-lapped to add to the layered feeling of the page.  Pink Paislee alpha's and Pinkfresh Studios die cuts were used to embellish, with a My Mind's Eye flair badge to finish it off.  The wood veneer is a Gossamer Blue exclusive.

In the Springtime

|
I missed the first day of Spring by a day or so.  But that's not stopping me from feeling inspired by all the possibilities of Spring:  flowers, sunshine, fresh color, outside play.  This is my second favorite season, a close runner-up to Fall.  I think Spring is sheer perfection; I feel hopeful and energized after the darkness that Winter can bring.  I like a slow warm-up to Summer and Spring gives me just what I need.  But Fall...she makes me feel like falling in love, which is why she will always be my favorite.

But today it's all about the delicate perfection of Spring.

Do you have a favorite season?

I'm feeling very inspired by color lately; the Gossamer Blue April kits are absolutely so lovely, you can check out the Lookbook HERE.  Isn't this the perfect color scheme for Spring?

Gossamer Blue: Mama's

|
The March kits from Gossamer Blue are nearly sold out, but you can still grab a March Scrapbook Main Kit or Life Pages Main Kit!  Here's a layout I made with the kits about my sweet mama friends:

I used some gorgeous PinkFresh Studio's paper along with some Gossamer Blue exclusive papers, PinkFresh die cuts, Pink Paislee alpha's and My Mind's Eye flair.  I just love these colors!  This layout is a cleaner look for me; not as many layers and only 3 patterned papers this time :)  I am super pleased with the outcome and think I'll try to do this style again.  Plus, it came together really fast!

Birthday Invitations

|
So... I did not have intentions of making birthday party invites for Miss Q's 3rd Birthday Bash. However, I've become a paper craft snob and couldn't find anything, anywhere, that came remotely close to what I wanted for her party.  Ok, that's not entirely true, I found tons of adorable stuff that I just couldn't bring myself to pay $60 for.

I made a quick Hobby Lobby run and found white cards on sale, then saw these super cute Me & My Big Ideas banner pieces.  My mind was made up, I just needed to make them myself.

I used two different font stamp sets from Lawn Fawn and two Hero Arts shadow inks for all the stamping.  I stamped one line at a time and wasn't too worried about keeping things straight or perfect.

I used some Dear Lizzy papers and white paper die cut with Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle dies for the front.  I have had that adorable stamp for a few years and thought it was perfect for this because of the three candles on the cake.

This was my first dance with Copic markers.  I'm officially addicted now so if anyone knows of a good place to purchase them (read: low cost), please tell me!

I stamped Let's Celebrate in gray Hero Arts ink using another Lawn Fawn stamp.

I loved the invites and was really happy I decided to make them myself.  Hooray for Handmade!

Gossamer Blue March Blog Hop

|
Welcome to the Gossamer Blue Blog Hop!

My SIL, Aunt Lee-Lee, sent Miss Q some happy mail for Valentine's Day.  The layout called for some hearts and pops of color, so I used the Pinkfresh Studio wood veneer hearts with a bit of glitter embossing powder to mat my smaller photos.  The sticker hearts are from the same package as the wood veneer.

I used a circle punch to create circles the stickers are layered on.  A few puffy stickers from Pinkfresh Studio and a Gossamer Blue exclusive printable rounded out the embellishments.  Given the graphic nature and colors of the layout, I felt that using the printable as my title would draw the eye into the photo cluster.  A couple lines of journaling was all I needed for this layout!

I love how the paper had the ink splats as part of the design!

Keep hopping to my FAVORITE Aussie, Joy Taylor!

If you encounter any issues along the way just head back to the Gossamer Blue Blog.

Miss Q At three

|
We had quite the celebration last weekend.  Our girly turned THREE.

Cupcakes.  Sugar Cookies.  Balloon's.  Love.  So much love at this party.

It's hard to describe living with a three year old.  Mood swings.  Yeah, I think mood swings sums it up the best.

Our dolly is a delight.  Incredibly imaginative.  She can play pretend with her babies for hours.

Our girl is dramatic.  The smallest things can break her heart.

She's learning to be a friend.

She's understanding what it means to share (although she doesn't seem to care for it).

She still loves paci.  When she is looking for paci and finally finds it, she typically exclaims, "there you are my beautiful paci!"

I know she's too old for paci.  But I don't want her to grow up yet.

This girl is going to preschool in the Fall.  It's all she can talk about.

And in the next breath, asks me if I can stay with her while she's at school.

I know this girl will be amazing.

She's definitely going places.

And one day she will leave home for good.

Until then, you can find us spending our days like this.

Happy Three our precious girl.

Project 12:2

|
I finished up my Project 12 spread for February earlier this week.  I used Gossamer Blue February Life Pages kits for this layout.

This month has an 8x8 Project Life insert holding Valentine's from Miss Q's friends as well as a few notes I received from friends.  This photo shows the spread with the insert front.

This photo shows the insert back.  I used a few binder clips from an older kit to keep items in place inside the insert (how many times can I use "in" in a sentence?).

I used washi strips from Simple Stories to date and document on the photos.  Cards are Gossamer Blue exclusives.  The Love This stamp on the title card is another exclusive from Gossamer Blue.  Here's the right side up close:

And now the left:

The enamel dots are on the outside of the pockets.  I also realized I left a word out in my jounaling!

And here's the insert:

That's our February!  I'll post the March Project 12 layout in early April.

Hope your weekend is amazing!  Our weather is supposed to be very Spring-like, and the girly is turning 3!

Gossamer Blue March Main Kit Layout

|
Happy March my friends!  This month is coming in like a lion with some cold weather, snow and cloudy days.

To brighten up your day, have a peek at my Gossamer Blue March Main Kit (click the words for a link to this kit in the store!) only layout.

I started the layout by trimming down the Pinkfresh Studio patterned paper; I cut the left side about 8 inches, then trimmed a bit off the remaining paper.  Both pieces were adhered to a piece of solid card stock from the March kit.  I created a banner with some Gossamer Blue exclusive striped paper, then added an extension to each banner piece with Pink Paislee paper.  It seemed like the banner got a bit lost on the background paper so I added the black to help it stand out.  The twine is from my stash.

The photo was matted on the same pink striped paper as the banner, with a strip of the black paper to balance color on both sides of the layout.  I stamped the hello in Soft Granite Hero Arts shadow ink then adhered the Gossamer Blue Exclusive cork piece, layering it on top of the photo.  The layout was finished with Pinkfresh Studio puffy stickers and a few enamel triangles from My Mind's Eye.

The March Main Kit is still available from Gossamer Blue!
